Biography:
Sharon grew up in the Portland area, and began studying violin
at age 6 with a Suzuki teacher. She continued to take lessons
and participate in various orchestras and ensembles through
the following 21 years. Also a visual artist, Sharon got a
degree in painting from Washington University in St. Louis.
After returning to Oregon, she spent two years as an assistant
in a Montessori classroom. For the past several years, Sharon
has divided her time between teaching art classes and violin
lessons. She is grateful for what music has brought to her
life and loves sharing the experience with others!

Biography:
Robyn began playing the violin/fiddle at a young age in rural
NE Oregon. After a childhood filled with fiddle and classical
contests, orchestras, chamber music, Suzuki Institutes, and
lessons she went to Linfield College to receive a BA in music
and psychology. During college Robyn started a private studio
which is on going, along with joining the My Smilin' Violin
team in 2006. Robyn enjoys playing in the NW with a bluegrass
band, various musician friends, and is enrolled in Oregon's
Suzuki Teacher Training program with Martha Shackford.

Biography:
Jennifer began playing the violin at age three
and switched to the viola in the sixth grade. She graduated
from Interlochen Arts Academy and attended various summer
music programs throughout her life including Ithaca Suzuki
Institute,
Interlochen Arts Camp, Ithaca Chamber Music Institute and
The Quartet Program. She began teaching violin and viola in
2005.
Jennifer is a former member of the Accidental String Quartet.
She continues to perform on the viola around Portland in

Suzuki Teacher Training with Martha Shackford
Bigraphy:
Raised on Suzuki violin, orchestra rehearsals, and classical
music in Minneapolis, MN, Ellie started violin at the age of
5. After college in 2001, Ellie moved solo to Portland. She
is the fiddle player in local newgrass band Cross-eyed Rosie.
She has a variety of teaching experience behind her that includes
preschool and elementary ages. Her time is now divided between
teaching violin and her other love - graphic design. Today,
Ellie feels grateful for her parent's persistence as Suzuki
parents and hopes to inspire more parents to be the same way
with their kids. top

Biography:
In 1983, Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science in English (with
an emphasis in Creative Writing) and a Minor in Music Performance
at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona. For the
following 20+ years, she played her violin off an on for events
and for community orchestras while working in the field of
medical research. In 2003, Andrea attended the Every Child
Can seminar where she learned more about the Suzuki Philosophy
of
teaching,
and following this seminar, she began studying her violin again
with a private teacher. Soon after Andrea ended her former
career and entered into Oregon's Suzuki Teacher Training program.
Now, Andrea has a small private home studio and teach for
a small Christian school, and also plays for her church on
a regular
basis.
Andrea lives with her husband on a small Asian Pear farm which
keeps them both busy. In her spare time, Andrea often hikes
with her two dogs,
reads, or quilst with her grown daughter.

Biography:
Geoffrey was raised in the Portland metropolitan area. He
currently lives with his wife Rachel (see below) his daughters
Jane and Penny, and his son Franklin. Geoffrey is a guitar
hobbyist. Geoffrey joined My Smilin' Violin in 2003 and manages
systems and accounting. Community Activities:

Saturday of every month.

Rachel spent her formative years in the Portland Metropolitan
area, she comes to us from a musically disciplined family of
six akin to "The Osmonds" (without the big white teeth) or
"The Partridge Family". Prior to founding My Smilin' Violin,
Rachel operated her own private studio and was a manager
for a Fortune 500 company.
Rachel, a mother of three, enjoys spending time reading catalogs

Raised in Arcadia, California, Kelly now lives
in North Portland
with her pet pug. She first started taking violin lessons
when she was 5
and then switched to viola six years later. She has been
playing and
performing on piano, violin, and viola for over 15 years.
She just recently
received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis & Clark
College and looks
forward to a life filled with music. Kelly plans to become
Suzuki certified
and aims to receive a Master's Degree in Musical Performance
from Portland

Biography: A native Oregonian, Lisa lives with her husband,
Jeremy, son, Hudson and dog, Truman.
A marketing and advertising professional, Lisa spent the past
nine years developing business and communications strategies
for businesses ranging from the entrepreneurial to the Fortune
500. Seeking more time with her family, her dog and herself,
Lisa pressed "STOP" on the traditional career treadmill
and joined My Smilin' Violin in 2007. She also provides marketing
communications and advertising expertise as a consultant via
her company, Bumbershoot.
Community Activities: Lisa and her husband are active volunteers
with Susquehanna Service Dogs, an organization that trains
and provides service dogs and hearing dogs to assist children
and adults with disabilities become more independent.
